Will Prednisone be hard on my 10 1/2 year old dog?

Max had his spleen removed because of tumors that are more than likely cancer. I say this be cause he had a tumor removed from his shoulder last Dec. that was cancerous. He is also having a neck issue , no range of motion. There is a vertabrae out in his neck. He was so tense that the chiropractor and my vet decided to put him on Prednisone to reduce the inflamation so he can be adjusted by the chiropractor..( dog chiropractor). He also walks like he's stiff in the hind end and wobbles a bit. I gave him a pain reliever. Is the Prednisone making him wobble ?
