How is Robbie Keane so effective?

I can't put my finger on it. He isn't overly fast, not all that big and strong, doesn't have a fantastic set of footskills, nor does he shoot the ball well from far out or anything yet he always manages to score huge goals. What exactly do you think makes him such a good striker?
