I know he liked me! What happened?

so last weekend i started talking to this guy who asked for my number, he typically texts me everyday, but today he didnt text me at all he just I.M.ed me and then got off really randomly without saying goodbye even though we were having a really good conversation, then i sent him a message saying text me which admittedly he may have not gotten yet but either well i would've expected some kind of text or something, he really likes me and tells me i look pretty and how much he likes me every day im a little stand-offish but i do tell him i like him when he says it, i never text or I.M. him first but hes so dedicated he doesnt even touch other girls and were not dating? is something wrong? i really like him.
